Scott will be presenting to our CFUG next Friday and I truly recommend all to head out to Cal Poly Pomona and watch this incredible presentation:
Scott Stroz:
After spending over a decade working as a paramedic, Scott decided it was time for a change and started down the path of web development. Currently, Scott is a Senior Software Architect at Alagad. He has been working with ColdFusion since version 5 and has been a Macromedia/Adobe Certified Advanced ColdFusion Developer since ColdFusion MX. He has developed and fostered a passion for Flex, and her half-sister AIR. He is the author of Flogr, a Flex based ColdFusion log reader. Scott is also a blogger, author and frequent speaker at User Groups and conferences on various Flex and ColdFusion topics.

Primer:
Adobe Flex allows developers to quickly and easily create rich internet applications (RIA)s. Adobe ColdFusion allows developers to quickly and easily create the back end for these RIAs. In this presentation we will discuss what Flex is, what Flex is not, how Flex differs from ColdFusion and how to get started connecting your Flex applications to ColdFusion.

Adam Bell will be presenting to us on January 11th on Spry. Here is his primer:
Adobe's Spry Framework allows for web developers and designers an easy way to add the functionality of AJAX to a website. Whether it's bringing in data from an XML feed, creating navigation or placing tooltips on top of maps, Spry makes it easy for almost anyone to use. Especially with Dreamweaver CS3. In this session Adam will showcase brief examples on all the elements of Spry and how to use them from Dreamweaver and then shows off new features not available directly in Dreamweaver like creating tooltips (similar to flickr or GoogleMaps) on a webpage and also how he tweaked the Tabbed Panels feature to offer rollovers of background images and more as he did for the recent redesign of DevelopersCircuit.com.
